Got done switching my 51 Red Ryder from leather to synthetic... One of the things I ran into was what to do with the parts from the saddle loop stud. I ended up threading both sides in order to turn them into fasteners. Here's a couple of pics hope it helps anybody with the same issue..

Interesting little idea, Bryan. I once created a complete "thru-the-receiver" ring holder with a threaded shaft and nut on the right side of the receiver. It used all 3 holes and enabled it to be removed and replaced.
Your idea makes it look original from both sides. Good thinking. Russ |

I used nail and just bent it and put in the end pinned over the left hand side of it

I bet that turned out just fine. I looked at redoing it but I was able to save the original pieces. Thanks for the advice.
