Sorry, the problem is that I can't or don't have the savy to post pictures here. One thing I can say is...the 40th Dream anniversary gun doesn't have a medallion.

Question for you guys, I bought this yesterday from someone and it had this medallion on it, is this legit or something randomly slapped on?

There's a dealer listing these on eBay as 40th anniversary models with "Anniversary Medallion (Added after Market)".  It's a Walmart Christmas wish with an added medallion.  In his listings they actually looked like the medallion was inletted into the wood.  This one appears glued to the surface?

Scottie,  The Christmas Dream guns are available today to the general public.  They only released them early for Daisy Museum Members so we can get our membership number gun.  Also, they allow two extra guns to be purchased by the members but only after the release to the general public.  They will hold your numbered gun until the general public release and then you can pick the numbers of the other two.

Russ,  I see they put the compass, sundial and forearm stamping on the right side of the gun.  All of the other Dream guns are on the left side.  This is a bummer, now I have to mount it facing the other direction.

Dennis, the 40th anniversary (this year's) might be considered truer to the movie. I know you have to display it in the other direction but then Ralphie was a southpaw! Might be easier to identify it as this year's model in the future.

That's true, but will this be the last one or will they keep on going?  And I am a south paw but shoot right handed, everything done with two hands is right handed like shoot pool, swing a bat and shoot a rifle.

I can acctually shoot both as I often go left when my left shoulder acts up, 40th matches the movie and the side correct to the year (even though it is a miss remembering of models).
I'd say they will keep going, movies been popular enough to get a direct sequel last year and I'd imagine even if they stopped yearly we'd still see 5 year increments, even if a lowly Brit can't have one unless he flies to the States to collect it.

twocompassheads,Yes I ordered a few today. Thanks for letting me know about them....That is a little odd about the compass and sundial on the right side. But as long as they are doing that for this version they could theoretically offer them in both right and left side versions in the future.... That's if the museum still does one five years from now.Let's say they could make a certain number of right side and a certain number of left side guns.Maybe even offer a double gun left/right side set, that would be cool.Maybe even drum up more interest for these guns since the Walmart version came out.

Problem is you'd need either multiple dies or multiple lines to do that which might not be cost effective, especially if its something low volume.

I just received my Christmas Dreams in the mail today. And I must say I am very impressed with the look of the gun. From the real grain wood to the compass to the "brass" barrel band,it is a nice looking gun.And the real usable sundial with a stylus from the Walmart Christmas Wish guns is a nice touch. And I like the retro 40th Ann. box.Last year if I remember correctly as my guns are in storage, the guns came in a lowly cheap plain cardboard box with only a sticker of the gun on it.These guns will be a nice addition to my collection of Red Ryders. There is nothing like a Red Ryder BB gun to get you in the mood for the holidays.Happy holidays to everyone out there in Daisy bb gun land.
