I often see references to vintage Daisy's like the Red Ryder specifically that mention one or more of the screws are 'not original'. Does anyone have any closeup macro shots of 'Correct' screws, fasteners, washers as they should apear when installed on Model 40s (or similar)? I believe they should all be various slotted pan head screws, blued or blacked and facing from left to right. A couple thread into wood or sheet metal and the others have small (blackened?) nuts on the opposite side as I recall. Thanks |

Hi Can't show any pictures but don't think they were pan head screws as I think those are the type that are flat on top.The old Red Ryders had a rounded head on the screws Stevec |

Thanks. I was using the wrong term - I believe they are called slotted dome head screws, probably blued or blackened.
There were several head sizes and lengths and I'm not sure about washer configurations (if any) either... Just a good close-up (macro) shot or two of the 'receiver' area on a known 'correct' early Model 40 Red Ryder would probably help a lot. thanks |
