I was in an Antique store today with the wife and came across a Daisy 106 repeater which I had never seen in person before.
It was priced pretty expensive however it was in pretty good shape. Does anyone here have any experience with this model? In Gary Garber’s book it told me it was only produced in 1957 and 58. The model was prone break the cocking mechanism is the main reason it was probably dropped.. It is a really different little Daisy. Just curious. Rick Cates Canyon, TX

Rick, what is the price on it? Does it cock and shoot? It sounds like they're hard to find and prone to breaking. The throw away Daisy. A while back Baker Air had a rough one for $70 that shot at 244 FPS and a nice clean looking one for $125 that fired at 162 FPS. They are riveted together and have tabs that supposably break off the sides.

If I remember correctly it was priced at $160. I did not cock it all the way but I did look at the tabs on both sides and they were intact. It was a Plymouth and was still pretty nice blueing. Thanks for the old thread it was interesting and from 2011 and I am sure things have changed on pricing. I think it was overpriced and I left it at the store. There was a number of Plymouth Daisys and Kings and all were expensive. I have started to walk away from my favorite Daisys which has been any Plymouth manufactured ones. Thanks for the info. Rick, That sounds like a fair price for a throw away type gun that was only made for 2 years and it's kind of collectable. I really don't know anything about them but someone on here might. And to top it off it sounds like it's in very good condition. Until this post I wasn't aware of the type of cocking this gun used. But like was mentioned, it's not a daily shooter because of the issues that it had. And your collection is lacking one of these classic Plymouth shooters. LOL

I thought it was overpriced along with the others. I have quite a few Daisys and Kings now. I have started passing up on some lately. There was 3 or 4 Red Ryders that were pretty nice however I have those variations in my collection and did not need another one just like one I already have. My favorite Daisys are the lever actions and Red Ryders are a big part of my collection. I may need to go back and make an offer and see what happens. Thanks again and I hope to see any other comments. I see you live in Kingman AZ. We come thru there in the spring and fall going to Vegas to the races. We sometimes overnight there at the Horse Motel RV Park east of town. Maybe sometime we can meet at In And Out Burger and discuss Daisys. My treat. I do like In and Out. There is a 106 Repeater "Mint in Box" on eBay now. It does appear to be mint in box. The price is $550. Wow!!!!!

I put the mint in box in my watch list and noticed today that it SOLD. Someone thought it was wort the ask price. Mint in the box is hard to come by so it did sell for a nice price. I offered $125 for the one in the Antique Store and that did not buy it. I guess I did not need it. Rick Cates
