Hello Everyone!

I just signed up to this forum because I need some expert advice, and you folks seem like the right people to be talking to. For 20 years, I've been a "collectibles" reseller, but vintage and antique toys are not my area of expertise. Would anyone be willing to look at my photos and tell me what they think of this cork gun? I'd also love to hear if anyone has interest in buying it...

This is a 1950's Daisy Red Ryder Cork Carbine, Model #965-55 Cork Ball Training Rifle.
It belonged to my cousin and has sat unattended in his parent's attic for the past 60+ years.
Knowing my hobby, he has asked me to sell it, of course!

I've researched some, so I know a tiny bit about it. This gun has a little scuffing, but appears to be in working order, although I do not have corks to test it. The parts operate smoothly and, I believe, as they should. I have the gun only... no box, paperwork or other packaging / accessories.

While eBay would be my first choice, they have, in the past, objected to items I have tried to sell, so I am hesitant to try and list a gun, even if it is just an air gun. (They did not like my EMPTY shell casings from WWII... lol) My feedback at eBay if 100% positive, and above average. It is so difficult to obtain feedback there anymore, but anyone who wants to can see my ratings at username "baseballlvr01".

I would also like to know how you all ship these toys...
Is it easy enough to ship this through USPS? (Or FedEx, I hear, has looser guidelines?)

I loaded photos to TinyPic and will post links below.
Any help provided will be greatly appreciated!

Cindy,

I have two of those Red Ryder Cork Carbine guns, in excellent condition and I have had these for 20 years or so, including a box.

They are as you describe a cork gun, made by Daisy in about 1955 in Plymouth, MI and although they are collectible, the value is not that high, in good condition maybe $100.

I was not able to pull up the pictures, but if you could email me I would appreciate it.

I might be interested, although I have two already.

Thanks, Louie!
I will email you with photos.

To get them from this post, you can copy the link and paste it into a new browser tab.

I am glad to hear that I am thinking the right price range.
This gun is good, but not what I'd call "excellent", so we're probably talking UNDER $100. :)
