Hi,

I am looking for a Red Ryder front stock with the metal barrel band and the little wire spring on the shot tube.

I will settle for just the metal band and shot tube spring and make the stock myself.

I checked ebay and found only the full front and rear stocks for about $20 to $30, since I already have the rear stock, is this the best that I can do, or are there any other options?

Thank you and regards, gkenny.

You can make your own retainer springs with .042 piano wire. Takes a couple minutes and a two needle nose plyers.

Thank you, the Fuse, I appreciate the response.

The only piano wire avalable around here in hobby shops is either .038 or .047. Witch would you use?

Also what about the front stock and barrel band?

Regards, gkenny.

Have you tried contacting Daisy directly?  I know they sold most of their spare parts inventory off to a BB-gunsmith but they still have some parts and can put you in touch with the new owner of their parts stock.  I've ordered a lot of parts from them in the past with no issues.

I'd go with the .038. Daisy used a thinner wire than the .042 that I used.

Thank you Fuse, that would be just great!

By the way, I purchased the .039 piano wire and it matches my old broken shot tube spring perfectly! Thank you for your advice on that as well.

Regards, gkenny.

You're welcome. That's what this forum is here for. We all help each other out. I learn something new all the time. BTW I have the 1938/1938B style barrel band but no forearm for that gun. Happy to trade you for some airgun related piece or part you don't mind parting with.
