My neighbor has a vintage red ryder(supposed to be around 1964) BB gun in a more modern box which has a bar code.
The stock has a medallion with 19 on left side and 38 on the right. It is not Chinese, and is lot no. 9139267 on the right side of barrel.
 The box says part# 36442.
He wants to know the value of the gun with box or separate. The box is in great shape and the gun is in very good shape.
Thanks for any results or info. anyone has.   don-ohioBig smile

Don,

I have most of my collection on sale, but I would be interested in this gun.

Could you maybe snap a picture and email or text to me.

Thanks.

Sorry,I can't post pics unless my wife knows how. The wood stock on this is not walnut,I don't believe. It is nice, but probably maple or something. Has the carving on the left of the stock and the medallion on the right side.
He's not hurrying to sell it. He will probably hang onto it for at least a coupla weeks or more.
We were just curious as to that lot number and what actual age the gun is. Thanks,Louie! don-ohio

From your description you have what is called the Red Ryder Classic, the 50th anniversary model has 1938- 1988 on the medallion, had a Walnut stock and forearm and came with a 50 year warranty and is the more valuable of the two. The Classic came with a
reproduction  Red Ryder comic book. Not all that valuable. I have one new in the box.

From the lot # I think your gun was produced in 1991.  The Red Ryder 50 Anniversary was produced in 1988 and what you describe is the Classic that was produced for a few years following.  Cut and paste this link in your browser.  You can find information about the Daisy # system on about page 6 of this information.

My old Post

Info. If the medallion only has 1938 and not 1938 - 1988 then you have the 1938-B Classic not the 50th Anniversary

. I believe that the 50th anniversary model came out in 1988. [model 1938-C] It had a walut stock/forarm and came with a life time warranty, it came with a strong box and a medallion 1938-1988
The 1st "Classic" came out in 1989 and included a replica of a Red Ryder comic book and had a medallion 1938

The 2nd "Classic" version came out in 1990 and included a Treasur Chest of bbs, medallion-1938. -Model [1938-B] as was the 1st version

This is the information I have. If you remember any more about these Daisy's please post it.
