It has sights, a triger, and can be cocked and fired. But there is no barrel. Please someone, what is it's purpose?

Stevec, Thanks for the reply. In addition to the meager description in my first post, the following info. may help a bit. The gun is 32 inches long and has a full size cocking lever. Also, ahead of the compression chamber there seems to be a floating cylinder. That weighted cylinder is held in place by a coil spring that in turn is secured by a pin that also secures a band that is the front sight and forward anchor for a sling. When fired, the forward spring compresses and then, when the pressure is spent, flys back. The inertia giving your shoulder a nice little kick.
I'm an old duffer that has enjoyed air guns for nearly eighty years. The first was a pop gun at age four. From then on I was hooked. Charlie |
