Hi Daisy,

I have a nice collection of bbguns with many daisys in it. Among them are a model 21 double barrel near mint and a model 25 in nice condition. Recently I've seen a brand new model 25 on the store shelves and had to buy it too. Now to the question I want to know. Are there any plans to reintroduce the model 21 or model 104 ? If there are I intend to pick up 10 of them. You have any idea what they are trading for on the open markets currently. Go to gunbroker.com or auctionarms.com and have a look. I bought my model 21 at a local auction and feel I stole it when I paid $350.00 for it and know I could double that if I ever dared sell it. With a demand that high I see no reason why you would not reintroduce it. Us collectors are always clammering for the hard to find ones!

Hopeful collector Bill

We know what the old rifles go for.A reintroduced rifle is not the same as an original rifle. The original rifles bring their price because they they are old and hard to find,a remake is not the same. The old rifles have a history and you know it was used by some kids for years. Can't say that about a remake.I will take an old Red Ryder anyday compared to a new one from Wal-Mart

stevec,

I agree with you 100%, and I refuse to buy the new ones made in China. I'm sorry I don't need one that bad. As long as there any old guns left, I will buy those first.

Bill:  The double-barrel guns, models 104 and 21, are great collectors guns - because they are unique and because they were each made for a limited number of years and, therefore, in small quantities.  You hit the nail on the head when you stated, "the collectors are slways clammering for the hard to find ones!".

For example, the 104 was marketed in 1938 - 1940.  While it was not in Daisy's catalog until 1939, there were 30,588 units pre-sold in 1938.  The TOTAL sales of the gun over the next two years was only another 15,234 pieces.  As you know, those are very low production volumes.  One of the reasons they didn't stay in the product line very long is that they were hard to cock.  Essentially, cocking the gun required the force similar to cocking two model 25s.  While anything is possible (and the company probably receives more requests for a remake of these guns than any other) there are no immediate plans for Daisy to bring back a double-barrel BB gun.

Thanks for being a Daisy collector, for your suggestions and for your support of the Daisy Museum.  Daisy

While the replica guns are neat and all they aren't the same as the originals. I have two original first model Daisy BB Guns. When the replica wirestock came out I got one of those to go along with them. I tried displaying it with them, but it just didn't fit in. While it was nice and all there was just no history to it. It had no "soul" like the other two had. My originals are in nice shape yet, but you can see they have been played with over time. When I look at them I wonder what they have seen and done over their 100+ year life span. I got none of that from the replica. I ended up boxing it back up and reselling it for what I had in it. That was the only replica gun I ever owned and EVER will own again.

Those 104's are my favorites to. I have a collection of an even dozen now. I did have 13 but I stuck one on GunBroker and sold it after the auction. It took me about 25 years to collect the ones I have. After the prices the last couple sold for on GunBroker. I don't know if I will get anymore or sell some of the ones I haveConfused
