I have purchased 2 new Adult Size Red Ryders now and both misfire all too frequently. Extremely frustrating! The model barrel/receiver 1938ARR must have a design flaw. Has anyone else experienced almost constant misfires with the new Adult Size RR?

I have a couple of the Adult Red Ryders and have had uniformly flawless operation. I use Daisy BBs and I always make sure that I hold the gun vertically, barrel up while cycling the operating lever. This ensures that a BB will gravity feed into position to be fired. If I fail to raise the gun correctly I would naturally expect to get misfires.

Jed, I have also experienced
the occasional misfire with my adult RR. But if I follow the instructions as
posted by Cobalt, I don't seem to have a problem. Ensuring the gun is pointed
straight seems to be key to proper operation. This was new to me, as never had
a RR before getting the adult RR on sale at my local Cabela's. Am more familiar
with the Daisy 1894's. Which are spring feed, and easier to load BB into firing
chamber. |
