I was able to acquire a Daisy 179 pistol today.
It is pretty clean and functions BUT the loading rod that is within the following spring has the "bump" that enables the loading tube to be held back while loading BBs is broken off. The holster is very clean and really doesn't show any wear at all. I would prefer to purchase a new part or if it is not available, JB Weld a nub on to the broken part so I can see how it shoots. Any information about parts availability will be greatly appreciated.

I'd hunt down a parts gun, if possible. Alternatively, there are quite a few very good Daisy gunsmiths who sell parts.

Redleg,
I will be visiting Dennis Baker at his gun shop this week. I have your part on my "want list". Will see what I can do to help. |

MarvMar: Great idea. Perhaps he will be able to help out.
I sometimes look at his website.

Lew Wood in Alaska sells everything for 179s. Just look under 179 collectors.
