Great to see you back and posting again, Rick!
Thanks for digging up that photo showing the details of the early 25 spring. It doesn't look shiny like the very early springs. And it's interesting that these early springs were wound w/open ends. At some point they started using closed ends that help the spring sit squarely. It took well into the 2000s afore they started grinding the closed ends flat.
