The other night I did a test fit of the spring anchor and the first thing I noticed was that it barely made contact with the rivet and could easily come off. Buck 105B anchors are available on Ebay
Is it worth a shot?
If so is removing the site just a matter of filing the top portion of the anchor flat ?
Thanks,
Mark

I put the anchor in place, wrap something over the top of the receiver (usually a stack of 3 file cards) so the anchor ends up a little bit above, mark along the top of the cards, and cut/file down to the mark.

This may not help you, but I’ll post it just in case it’s useful to someone…The 102 anchor is very similar, but would need some minor profiling of the curved area along with sight removal. J.G. has about a thousand of them in stock. They are inexpensive, but they do have a $15. min. order.
Next time I place an order, I’m gonna’ get about a dozen.
Best I can figure, Daisy just used the no-sight anchor from the wide-body models on the Ryder (but the rivet on these sits lower than the slot on the wide models…they are a perfect fit on 95, 96, 99, etc.).
On the Ryders it kicks the spring up at a weird angle.

Usually folks contact me directly when there's a problem so this is the first I'm hearing about this, but here's my take on it:

The original spring anchor works fine. If you damaged the original anchor, I will send you a replacement. If you just want a different look, that's fine too- but you do not need a different part.

Trigger installation and plunger assembly replacement instructions have been sent to by email.

Be sure the spring is compressed enough that the spring anchor will fit correctly before installing the anchor. It is easy to install the anchor through the spring coils instead of behind the compressed spring. Photos will be sent to you showing this.

Not sure if I damaged the spring anchor. It appears fine.
Any history on what type of spring compressor people are using to install your “Super Spring”?
As expect it required quite a bit of force to compress it.

My favorite compressor for the newer Red Ryder is one I made out of a piece of half inch galvanized pipe, not tubing. It is really strong and holds its strength when cut thin enough to make clearances.   If you would like a few pix, send me an email. My email is in my profile.
Russ.

I am also using one made out of 1/2” ID plumbing pipe.
I like it because I can put it on a hard surface and push down on the gun.

Hey gentleman I'm going to chime in here and let Shail know that it's happened to everybody I'm sure. When I build a gun before I caulk it when the stock is not installed I take flashlight and look down the back of the frame so that you can see that the pin as we're calling it is in front of the rivet. If it's not and you haven't caulked it yet it's no big deal it's once you caulk the thing that you end up damaging the top of the receiver and who knows what else.

Good Plinking Bryno
