I have an original green colored, web sling for a Model 141/142 Defender rifle.  Daisy used the same sling for both models.  One of the wire hooks on the end of my sling has been damaged by a previous owner.  I would like to replace it with one in nice, original condition.  The Model 40 sling hooks are flat sheet metal and would not be the same style.  They did use these wire (round) "s" hooks on other models like the 140 as well.  If anyone has one they would part with, please contact me.  My email is on my profile page.  Thanks

Anyone????

I think that maybe the 90 Models like the 99 that had web slings may have used the same type of round wire hooks as well.  If someone has both the 141/142 defender and one the webbed sling 90 Models, I would be interested in knowing if they are indeed the same hook.  Thanks

Looking at the photos I have on file, the 88, 98, and 99 all use the same type of hook between themselves.
ETA- but the 141 hook seen in the photo I received from iceman just now shows some detail differences. A comparison of the 141 hook and a 99 hook is at the bottom of this post.

I checked the slings on a model 142 and 99 and while the hooks look almost identical , the 99 is wider at 1 5/16 to the 142's 1 1/8. Both were a dark green webbing about an inch wide with the 99 being thicker. Hope this helps.

I just checked a 98 Eagle with the leather sling and it has the same hooks as the 142 at 1 1/8 except that the hooks are plated.

You are absolutely right Zipper 28.  Cobalt posted a pic of my 141/142 hook.  As you may see, the neck of the hook is damaged due to someone probably trying to remove it from the post on the stock.  If these necks are closed, it is almost impossible to remove the sling without damaging the hooks.

It appears that I will need to replace it with one from a 140, 141 or 142 sling.  Again, if anyone here has one or may know of anyone who may have one, please contact me.  Thank you Zipper 28 and Mark for your responses.  It is much appreciated.

Can you measure the size of the hole or the S hook connects and maybe go to like Ace Hardware or Home Depot or somewhere and pick up a piece of wire rod and maybe make your own that's what I would try to do if you can't find a regular essay Court. Old George

I appreciate your reply and idea.  These are pretty heavy gauge wire and would certainly require someone with more skills than I have to make these.  The best solution is simply finding one that came off a 141/142 defender sling.  That is like a needle in a haystack.  However, I was able to resolve my issue and no longer need a wire hook.  I should have posted this sooner.  My apologies!  Again, thanks to everyone who responded to my post.

I can't post a picture here but I have a web sling with the hooks, and looking at my 142 Defender they look the same, but as you know the original slings on the 141 and 142 were a thin web and later some guns had the thicker web sling, olive green.

I would be happy to text a picture of the sling and hooks if you want to contact me.
