If it has a "LOT NO." it can be easily dated. If it has a "REG. NO." it's not as easy but can be done. I have no idea on value.

If you email me the photos, I'll post them for you. My address is in my profile page.

Here it is. BTW, if you give it a few drops of oil, it's supposed to make smoke when you shoot it:

I have a 1160 with the scope and it has neither a lot or reg number. It was made in Plymouth so it must be from 1958 or earlier.

I don't believe my 1160 has numbers either.   Not common for the toy guns to have them.

DAISY 1160 was part of a "new line" of play guns that were introduced in late 1953.  1954 thru
1956 there was a big marketing blitz for this line coupled with models promoted by TV personalities like Davy Crockett , ZORRO, Annie Oakley, Ramar etc.

HERE ARE SOME ADs

1954

1955

1956

Great ads. Gives new perspectives on some of the yard sale finds.

My gosh that must have just been the funnest time ever. Okay all you guys probably know the answer to this but I'm still figuring out all the different terminology. Help me out in the last add there is a model 1160 mentioned and it says painted jacket. Is that what I guess would be called the frame or receiver I think I've seen it called jacket before?

Thanks
Bryan
