I have a #25 daisy pump bb gun that will not catch when gun is kocked. Is this something wrong with trigger assembly?

Could be a broken trigger spring. Does the trigger spring forward when pulled then released or does it sort of flop loosely?
If you manually move the trigger forward when the cocking lever is pulled back to the cock position, will the trigger then engage?

It could be that the trigger spring just slipped off or was installed incorrectly by a previous owner.
