I only use Dextron ATF in the BB guns.  It never thickens up and has good lubrication on the seals.  I've had a set of new seals and an old seal soaking in ATF now for over 5 years and they have not been affected by the oil.  There are no signs of swelling or softening.  Other builders also use it and I prefer it to 20W non detergent which I have tried but switched to ATF.  I've heard it said not to use Pellgun oil in the Daisy BB guns.

Sounds interesting, I may have to try this on a couple (wonder if I should clean out the old stuff first, or if they’ll mix ok ?)

It's been a little while since I last bought oil or sold it but anywhere that can look after classic cars parts wise will carry 20w, I plan to get some myself at somepoint as I know for definate I only have 60w in my storage.
