Is this acceptable?
Should I try to grind it and polish it or does it make any difference? It's night and day difference from my machine head 1991 880. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Truthfully, if the casting line isn't raised above the deck of the piston far enough that it's contacting the seal (which I'm sure it isn't), then it is only a cosmetic issue. And, removing any material from the top of the piston acts to reduce the compression ratio. The change is miniscule, but it's a change in the wrong direction, regardless.
So my recommendation is to do nothing unless the aesthetics of it bother you too much. Odd, I wonder why I want to listen to Deep Purple all of a sudden??? haha |
