O-RINGS

The places I use:

The O-ring Store http://www.theoringstore.com/

O-rings and More http://www.oringsandmore.com/

Below are recommendations made by The O-ring Store. In addition to the material composition, the durometer reading is another consideration. The higher the number the harder the material. For airguns, durometer 70 or 90 is often used. If in doubt, let the exact application be the guide to what is used in each specific case.

N Metric Buna-N

E EPDM

C Neoprene

S Silicone

V Viton

P Polyurethane

F Fluorosilicone

KEY:

1 Excellent (<10% Swell) 2 Good (static usually OK) 3 Poor (20-40% Swell) 4 Not Recommended X Insufficient Data

NOTE:

I am not recommending the use of nitrogen. It is listed here as a reference only. And NEVER even consider using oxygen!

Bottom line for using pressurized gasses- always refer to the manufacturer's recommendations as to what and how much.
