So it looks like the abutment washer came out with the abutment seal on my dad's 103. Great. Before I get started I thought I'd see if anybody had any advice. It appears as though the washer is fine and I'm pretty sure I can see the staking tabs in the compression chamber. Beyond that Clueless.

I've successfully used a thin application of E6000. This has gotten me out of a jam several times. But putting credit where it is due, Cobalt 327 suggested this adhesive to me a long time ago. Just make sure both surfaces are clean of lubricant. I use alcohol to accomplish the task.

Thanks guys but I'm pretty sure we're talking about two different problems. The metal abutment actually came out of the gun along with the Rubber abutment seal.

Just in case you’re not already aware of this, Shane (Restomod Daisy) has done a couple of videos on these abutment washers (the most recent being Feb. 4 of this year) good info, well worth checking out. Good luck !

In re-watching the video, I see he didn’t show reinstallation. Using the shot tube for placement/alignment is the best way. To bend the tabs, I’ve used a piece of pipe cut at a 45 degree angle to (gently!) force the tabs away from the tube wall and start the bend, after this a flat-ended rod and some careful hammer work finishes bending the tabs against the washer. Good luck !

Yeah I'm glad you pointed me to that video. That would have been pretty funny to try to glue my abutment washer back in there. Haha. I'll let you know how it goes. Appreciate you guys.

All right just to follow up 3 hours of frustration later. I was able to reinstall the abutment washer. Pretty similar process to what Mr Bruce shows in his video. Interesting note pretty sure this gun was manufactured wrong in the first place. The tabs on the compression chamber to hold the abutment washer in place are nowhere near at 3:00 and 9:00. So my guess is they were never been over but I'm still performing my forensic analysis. Anyway gun shoots dead straight and hard. Appreciate the community spirit.

Good deal ! Never seen one with tabs in the wrong place before, but apparently non-bent tabs did happen from time-to-time. I had a 102 with the seal stuck to the plunger head, when I pulled the shot tube the abutment washer almost fell out. Whenever I work on one of these, I always inspect the tabs now. Glad you got it fixed !

Glad to hear that the tabs were still there even if not at 3 and 9. Good work and keep us posted on the forensics! Russ.

Still trying to figure out this picture thing but I wanted to finish up this post. Again the point was to show that some of the daisy guns like the one in question appear to have been mismanufactured. Causing the staking tabs for the abutment washer to never be folded over subsequently allowing the equipment washer to fall out during seal replacement. You can see that the tabs are definitely not at 3:00 and 9:00 and the plunger head shows signs of having been rubbing on one tab for the duration of his life.

Well thanks Russ. And of course there's a few in the pipe. Meanwhile this one isn't actually done. I have a daisy dollar token that I just polished up and I intend to inlay it in the stock and then laser engrave around it. When I get done I will post a photo. I hope.

It turned out fantastic- the woodworking, engraving and insetting is professional quality all the way!

I love the way the engraving encircles the coin. Even the washers backing up the bolt heads add something to the looks. He'll be proud of both, it and you. Great job. Russ

I still can't get the hang of posting pictures here.
2. I often use my projects as features for my YouTube channel, Daisy lever gun fun.
I really love seeing stuff from folks like you and hope they keep on a' comin'.

It might be that someone had taken down the airgun before your attempt.

Great work on all of the stocks ! I’ll side with Russ, I really love that chicken (although at first glance, I thought it was the Roadrunner…old eyes I guess). The flames and finger grooves on the 95b are pretty cool too. I had ofter considered inletting a m.l. style patchbox in one, but hadn’t thought about cutting a design clear through. One of a kind for sure. Good stuff !
