Hello,
I just picked up two Power Line 889. Pretty much new old stock. Still have the tags attached and in the box. They belonged to a retired, long time Daisy employee. One is stamped 1492485. The other looks to be taped, as in never opened. My Question is, was the box taped from the factory? If I break the tape to inspect the gun does that have any affect on the value? I also got a 880 number 9K01527 Cheers ClarkB

The 880 is Oct. 1989.
Any chance the 889's second position is 1A92485 or some other letter and not a number? In any event, normally "1" in the first position indicates 1991.

Right.... I double checked. It's a 4. This rifle has nothing on the barrel. That number is on the receiver.
