I have just bought my son this rifle -, I was keen that he familiarised himself with it before giving him any bb's.  He proceeded and cocked it, it did the 7 clicks, and he obviously did not put a bb in.  He then closed the cocking mechanism.  On squeezing the trigger the firing mechanism did not release ( go bang!)- is this because he did not have a bb in the chamber?  Also now on cocking there are no clicks as if the gun needs to be discharged.

any help apprciated

Hi

If it is a newer one then it has a saftey on it.Look by the trigger for a saftey button. It will push in and out.A little red paint on it too.
