No, I doubt there is such a thing from the era you say. There are Daisy fishing poles from the 70-80's when they were combined with Heddon (fishing accessory manufacturer). However I dont think daisy made anything outside of BB guns and toy guns in the 50's.

Yes. I have one. Square blank. Cork handle with 2 sliding reel clamps. Not much info on them. It was my father's who gave it to me as my first rod. I used it in the later 60s and early 70s so I have no doubt it is from the 50s.
(and yes, I know this is an 11 year old post). |

Welcome! Thanks for the info and as far as I'm concerned, no post is too old that it cannot be updated, so no worries.
What I'm seeing is possibly a collaboration between Wright McGill and Daisy. There are several lengths as well as square Daisy rods with a screw-clamp reel seat. Some are as old as the '30s. ![]() |

I remembered I had saved photos of this reel a couple years ago, this is as good a place as any to show it. It's hazy but IIRC it was being sold at Gun Broker. It's from the Victor Comptometer/Heddon years (1968-
‘77) so is newer than the rods above. The bottom photo shows it was "Assembled in USA by Daisy Heddon Parts Made in Japan".
Similar to other Daisy sporting goods like the 'Legacy' series of .22 rifles, these reels were marketed as a low cost, entry level type reel- something one might buy for a kid. ![]() |
