Hi teerex.otw,

It is marked 95 with a spring-feed shot tube, I replaced the original with a new model 25 shot tube. I stripped off the old painted finish, cleaned off some light rust, cold blued it, and refinished the stock. It had the initials C.K. scratched into the stock but I managed to sand it out. this is my first Daisy rebuild, I learned from Mark and RestOModDaisy videos. It's fun and challenging to shoot without sights.

Garageshop,
That turned out really nice, very well done !
Sometimes I don’t know what to make of Daisy stampings. The barrel shroud on a true 95 should have been about 1/4” too short to fit a 25 shot tube properly, along with a couple of other details. But no matter, as long as it works, it’s all good.
Re: no sights, it’s surprising how well you can learn to shoot without them. Years ago I met a guy at the range shooting nice, tight groups with an “unsighted” 1911. When I asked him about it, he said it’s all about muscle memory and instinct. He asked if I fish, when I said yes he asked “can you cast accurately ?”, when I said yes, he then asked “what kind of sights do you have on your fishing rod ?”
…Point taken.

Of the model 95 QS guns I have seen that were configured like Steve's, they all appear to be a 99 stamped as a 95. Were they mis-stamped frames put into use as QS guns, or is there some other reason for this discrepancy? We'll probably never know for sure...
