Mark,
That’s interesting. I’ve never seen one like the upper lever in the photo. Is that the first gen. high-pivot ? Sort of resembles the low pivot profile, neat bit of Daisy history (but easy to see why they changed it). Thanks for showing it ! |

Thanks for the education Mark. So that means one year earlier and my 94 Red Rider would have had that lever. Oh well still my favorite gun. Have to ask would that have meant it had leather seals...that's about the time for the change right.

I have seen it said that there were leather seal 94 Red Ryders, but I have yet to
come across one. And as time goes by, I tend to believe they all used rubber seals. I base this on a 94 Red Ryder that I own- it's a very early
94 having Register No. 715033 with no oil hole and it has rubber seals. This gun was stamped on June 15, 1954- the 2nd month of production. Note that it's so early that it uses the
first Register No. system that lacks a letter prefix- same as how the 111-40 Register No.s were formatted when the Reg. No. system was in its infancy. Add to that the fact that the last 111-40s to be made had rubber seals.
But either way, I believe the change to the levers came in 1955.

So there you go I had heard the same thing about the early early 94 examples.

To your question, I'm just not sure if it was still sleeved.

Mark,
Thanks for all the info. Fwiw, this one must be an early Western Carbine, it’s rollstamped Rogers with model 94, but not Red Ryder, and the stock is plain, fake hammer type, like my 111 (H524247), no bull’s head logo. Rex |

Mark, Does that curved aluminum lever with the notches fit on any thing other than the 1938...NOT 1938B ?

It fits all the "high pivot" guns, including the No. 1938 Red Ryder and the model 1938B Red Ryder. The photo is from an old ebay listing.
