I have a couple of Daisy VL 22 Rifles am considering selling but not sure of their value.
One of them is a one of a kind that was once owned by the former President of Daisy, Lewis Cass Hough. This gun has a Very unique History that also involved My Step-dad(Don Fl......) and myself.
My Step-dad moved to Rogers with Daisy, Friends with Orin Ribar & family and was Supervisor of R&D dept for many years(33 yrs employment total).
Wooden stock, custom engraving, Includes Gun Case - Also have ammo.
The buyer gets to hear the complete story & history of the two guns.

I can't help with your question of value, but I would like to say welcome to the forum and good luck with the sale. It sounds like you have quite an iconic collector's item there!

Regards, Mark

Yes, look on gun broker for similar guns that actually have bids, not just what someone is asking.
Right now many guns are selling high compared to just a few years ago.

Just remember your VL is a firearm and the sale and shipment must follow ATF regulations.

Perhaps your VL was owned by Cass S. Hough, rather than his father, Lewis Cass Hough (1846-1902)?

I would say that the if your VL is directly linked back to Cass S. Hough ownership, then the value is very high.  The story of the VL is unique and Mr. Hough was directly involved from the beginning.  Best of good fortune with your sale.

As an aside, I once had the honor of interviewing your father-in-law when doing research regarding the development of the Daisy Model 21 double-barrel.  A very informative conversation with a most knowledgeable gentleman.

Forgive me for not getting it right.  Stepfather, not father-in-law.
