    Posted: October-10-2018 at 8:22pm
I bought a new in the box Daisy Model 111 from the 60's or 70's that has had the cross bolt on the rear stock robbed from it.
Bought it cheap and thought I had one at home however, when I went through the box I keep the extras in I only have an old slightly rusty one which will not look like it belongs on the really nice like new Daisy.
Anyone know a good source for a new cross bolt?
I looked on ebay today and no luck there right now.
I hate to spend a arm and leg just for a bolt.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Daisy has hardware available that fits the newer guns, chances are it's pretty similar if not the same as what you're looking for.

The screw assortments from Daisy are all phillips head, you have slotted if the gun is older than mid '70s. But if that doesn't matter to you or if you already have phillips screws, the part number for current production Red Ryder screws is 169382-K00, $1.00 each.

You could buff the rust off the old screw you have then cold blue it. Rub it out w/gun oil and it'll be a decent match as long as the slot isn't wallowed out too bad to be dressed.

What I am looking for is the slotted bolt.
I may try the wire wheel on the rusty bolt and then cold blue it.
I tried that in the past and it always looked dull after a period of time but that is better than no bolt at all.
Thanks for the replies and I will also keep looking on ebay to find an old one in primo shape.

You sound like you know what's up but for a future searcher, if you have a dremel with a firm felt buff, and use polishing compound intended for polishing metal, you can get a mirror finish on the steel screw. Cold bluing over that will give a shiner result than cold bluing over a wire wheel finish but cold blue being what it is (an acid) it will tend to dull most any finish it's applied to. That's where carding and an oil buff can help.

JG Airguns has Daisy lever screws and blued nuts, but they don't carry the longer trigger or stock screws. There are other small vendors that may be able to help, if you want some names to try let me know.

All the slotted hardware I have is either on guns already or too hammered to be used. But I'll keep my eyes open and if I run across anything I'll give you a shout.

Thanks again for the note and I would be interested in names and sources for anything Daisy.
I like to buy the lost cases of the older daisy's and work on repairing them.
I am not a TV watcher so I fill my time with projects when we are home.
Today it is a antique childs rocking chair we found broken up at the flea market and the wife thinks I can repair it.  I have it all back together with repaired spindles.  Tomorrow is stripping day for the 50 plus year old varnish which is black and all bubbled up now.
Thanks again and any info would be appreciated.

Hi Rick,
I believe I have what you are looking for. I have two, as a matter of fact. I also have several older "lost cases" as you put it. Trying to offload the most of what I have. I can send you pics to your email address of the bolts and some of the old guns I have that need help. I also so have a bunch of old and not so old Daisy parts and parts guns.
All I'm for is the liberty of the individual.

Thanks for the info.
I can always use contacts for parts.
I am going to try the polish of the bolt then cold blue it and polish it again.
If I find one later it can go into the parts box.
Thanks again,
