UPDATE:     I have completed a list of most all the guns/items in the collection (over 650!), including details about each item, and Blue Book of Airguns value.  I do have photos, too, but not sure how to post them as there are more than a thousand pics.  Working on that.  For now, I'm taking offers for the entire collection. Over the next year, I may consider breaking the collection into several large sections if I don't get fair offers for the whole thing.  To receive the full list, or for more info, or offers, contact me via email :  john.g.kubasta@gmail.com

I do not check this forum very often, so emailing me is the best way to get a quick response.

Here's my original post:
My father has a rather complete collection of BB guns (hundreds of distinct models).  He began collecting around 1973, and stopped buying new guns around the 90s, but it includes virtually every Daisy model and variation, and most every other brand.  I wouldn't doubt it may be the largest and most complete spring air collection in existence. Most all the guns are in mint condition, and some have the box and other items. He stuck to mostly spring air guns/pistols, but also has dozens of pellet guns, toy guns, and lots of memorabilia and odd Daisy artifacts.  He has thoroughly enjoyed his collecting and collection, but is getting old and is willing to sell it as a whole.

Thank you,

I plan on investigating where to advertise the collection, and posting more information about the models, etc.  However, it's a daunting task as there are so many rifles, pistols, toys, etc. (likely around 500 or more articles total).  If you are a serious buyer of a large collection, I'd be happy to talk to you.  I can post pictures eventually.

Thank you,

Are you only interested in selling the whole collection as one, or will you consider selling separately?

Thank you, gkenny.

gkenny,

I think my dad doesn't have the interest in extending the sale out by selling piece by piece.  He will likely get the most by selling as an entire collection.  If I receive good evidence/advice from other collectors that that is not the case, then we'll consider otherwise.

Thanks for inquiring,

John K.

Collectors,

We might consider splitting my dad's BB gun collection into smaller groups of similar brands, as that is frequently how many collectors chose to collect.  For instance, my dad has 8 Winchester pellet guns and 3 Winchester pistol pellet guns which he could sell separately.  He has many Crossman BB/pellet rifles and pistols, and groups of other brands, as well.  If beneficial to us, we might even consider selling groups of Daisy models (like all the 1894's, Red Ryders, Model 25's, ect...).  I'd appreciate feedback from those of you who have sold off large groups of guns at a time.  I'm not hearing good things about some of the auction sites.

John, you might try Dennis Baker at 937 935 4887  baker19711@yahoo.com; he is a crackerjack air gun repair specialist, and frequently buys complete or semi complete collections; give him a try, he is a reputable individual, have been dealing with him for over 7 years.
